When we learn traditional skills we are part of a cycle in which the old becomes new, picks up the patina of contemporary influences, and then gracefully ages into our children's heritage.

There are some modern things that are better than the old, and there are some things that are old that are better than the modern. It is in the harmony of those two things that your journey is smooth. It means that there are fewer interruptions to the rhythm of a journey, because everything just works.
